What is the difference between a rotary shear and a flying shear?

A rotary shear uses rotating blades synchronized with strip movement to achieve continuous cutting, making it suitable for thin and medium-gauge materials at very high speeds. A flying shear, on the other hand, moves together with the strip during cutting and is often used for thicker materials. Rotary shears generally provide higher efficiency for high-speed sheet production applications.
